Find out more about us and our B&B in Eryri | Snowdonia, North Wales
With so many new and exciting attractions and activities many people are discovering both our B&B and this beautiful part of Wales for the first time.
Others are returning to Eryri | Snowdonia National Park and North Wales to enjoy once again the spectacular beaches, mountains, forests, waterfalls and lakes the region is famous for.
Whatever your reason for visiting we know that there are lots of accommodation options and that doing research to find the best place to stay is a crucial part of your holiday planning.
As experienced travellers ourselves we totally understand this - we do exactly the same!!!
Just some of the wonderful people we’ve met from all over the world - guests from Australia, Thailand, Spain, Israel, France and Belgium!
So why should you stay here with us?
Well we genuinely love what we do and are passionate about welcoming guests to our bed and breakfast, the peaceful village of Trefriw where we are located, and North Wales.
From the moment you discover us for the first time to finally saying goodbye and checking-out, you can be assured that each and every aspect of your stay has been taken care of.
“Such attention to detail and so many thoughtful touches”
When we started our journey at Crafnant House we wanted to create a destination that we would actually choose ourselves.
Relaxed, friendly, unpretentious and offering both good value and service, yet have an eye for detail and all the little luxuries you need whether you are travelling to North Wales for just a short break or a longer holiday.
“ Every element feels carefully considered, making your stay truly special”
You always remember the best places you have ever stayed at - maybe because of the food you tasted, the little magical touches, the eye-catching decor, or the chats and laughs you had.
So we looked back at the memorable accommodation we enjoyed on various trips around the world - and still enthuse about years later - and happily pinched ideas and inspiration for Crafnant House from them all!!!
“What makes it outstanding is the warmth, hospitality and helpful nature of Jasmine & Stuart”
It is now a pleasure sharing Crafnant House with everybody and we try to make any stay here as comfortable and effortless as possible, creating a “friendly”, “quirky”, and “unique” (not our words!) home from home.
Quite simply from the moment you walk through the door we want you to have just the best time and a perfect stay whatever you plan to do here in beautiful Wales.
A previous guest said "it felt like going to stay with old friends"... which we really do think sums up our approach quite nicely.

The B&B and our story
The previous owners, Jan and Mike, ran a very successful guest house here for 18 years before moving to the North Wales coast to enjoy their well earned retirement.
We bought ‘her’ in 2017 after first seeing the property details online. We then instantly fell in love with both the house and the village during a visit to Eryri | Snowdonia to view it on a cold wet day in February!
Stuart used to live in North Wales as a child and still had family living in nearby Colwyn Bay on the coast, but we both never thought we would one day return here.
After 20 years of working in and around London, however, it was time for a change of direction and we had always had a very vague plan to do something completely different in the future like run a bed and breakfast - this snowballed quite quickly!
Before we knew it we had sold our (very small) home in High Wycombe, resigned from our jobs and within days of moving in were welcoming our first guests - no prior hospitality experience, a broken oven and a dining room full of packing boxes did not deter us!
It really was like one of those TV programmes where people supposedly ‘escape to the country’ and start a new life, and you think “people don’t actually do that sort of thing do they?!” - we did!
Trying to not look too tired on the day we moved in 2017!
Our first summer was spent redecorating all of the guest rooms (grey everywhere to start with!) and learning the ropes - people were very understanding the first few weeks and we were quite honest in telling everybody that we had just started doing this!!!
Just over 8 years later we’ve never looked back. We love what we do and it is wonderful sharing Crafnant House, the village and wider region with all of the guests we get from all over the world.
Things look a little different now compared to our first day!
We are constantly updating and improving the house and garden whilst restoring or recreating the original period features wherever possible. You will usually find us with a paintbrush in our hand during the quieter winter months!
And we are of course just the latest in a long line of custodians welcoming people to this house to enjoy holidays in the pretty village of Trefriw, Eryri | Snowdonia National Park and North Wales!
